Are you wondering what to do in Niagara Falls besides see the falls? Here is your guide! Niagara Falls is such a fun little hidden gem. While I would classify it as a day trip destination, we still had a lot of fun. Here are the top things to do in Niagara Falls.
When To Go:
That is entirely up to you! There are great times all year to visit and I think no matter when you go will bring something unique to your visits. We went at the beginning of September which I would highly recommend because the weather was great, the hotels were cheap, and there was hardly anyone around. We didn’t see very many people and most of our pictures do not have anyone in them. I would also love to visit in the winter when the falls are frozen.
Top Things To Do:
–Take a trip in the falls on Maid of the Mist. Canada has the same tour but called something else. This boat super up close to the falls and it fairly short. They provide a poncho for you too because you will get wet.
–Go on weekend and view the lights and firework show at night. If you go on a weekday, you can still view the lights
–Walk around Goat Island and visit each view point. Get a great view of the falls without getting wet.
–White Water Walk- ride the elevator down and walk the base of the falls
–Ride the Trolley around the town
–Visit The Cave of the Winds- get up super close to the falls. You will get wet
–Walk across the border to Canada- view the Falls from the other side. The Canada side has a full view of both falls that is just gorgeous. There are a lot of fun things you can do on that side as too- tourists sites, zip lining right next to the falls, museums and more. Don’t forget your passport!
–Walk around the little town of Niagara. There are cute restaurants, a fun park with life size games and you just feel like you have been transported somewhere else
–Explore Buffalo, we did not really do this except to go to the mall for some dinner because we arrived super late.
Where to Stay:
There are so many hotels to choose from in Niagara Falls and surrounding cities. Staying in the town of Niagara is my top choice because you are so close to everything. We walked everywhere and could enjoy the whole town, day or night.

We had the best time in Niagara Falls and hope you found our Things To Do in Niagara Falls guide helpful.
