The Best Things To Do at Magnolia Market

Plus our time spent there + other things to do in Waco.

Have you ever wanted to visit Magnolia Market? I love that 7 years ago Waco, Texas was not even on the map and now it is a major tourist destination. Way to to go Chip and Joanna! Here are the best things to do at Magnolia Market.

Waco was a short drive from Dallas and definitely worth the day trip. We went at the beginning of October. The weather was nice and it really was not very crowded.

Eat at the Restaurant

We started the day by putting our name down at the Magnolia Table Restaurant. They told us it was about a two hour wait so we went over to the Silos, but it really ended up being only 40 minutes or so. While eating at the restaurant was definitely at the top of my list of things to do, I did not love food. The restaurant was adorable and everything from the waiting areas to the decor was so well thought out. I am happy I went once, but I don’t necessarily have a desire to eat there again (maybe I need to try something else!).

After Magnolia Table, we headed back over to The Silos and explored. We went all over the property and saw everything we could. The market was super cute but beware, it is pricey. Most items can be found cheaper elsewhere. I did pick up one souvenir to take home though.

An absolute must do is waiting in line at the bakery. It only took us about 15 minutes and that was only because they had to close shortly for a clean up. The cupcakes were definitely worth it and there were so many other treats to choose from.

Overall, I loved visiting The Silos. We only spent half a day there, which I thought was plenty and still saw everything. If you have more time, there is definitely way more to explore in Waco other than The Silos.

Tips and Tricks
-Go on a weekday, it will likely be way less busy
-Don’t go in the Summer when it will busy and you will be outside in the hot Texas heat
-They have lots of yummy food trucks lined up outside on property if you are hungry and did not eat at the restaurant
-Wait in line at the bakery, the cupcakes are worth it!
-Don’t just visit the Magnolia Market, walk around the whole property, the entire thing is darling
-Visit in the Fall when all the pumpkins are out
-Bring water, even in October it was still hot outside
-Don’t pay for parking, there is free parking all over within a really short walking distance

Other fun things you can also do in Waco
-Downtown Farmer’s Market (if you are there on a Saturday)
-The Dr. Pepper Museum
-Eat at Health Camp
-Shop at the local vintage shops and home stores
-BSR Cable Park
