Favorite Things Party Gift Ideas

Every December I host a favorite things party and it is truly one of my favorite things I get to put together all year. Favorite things parties are perfect for girl’s night, galentine’s party, christmas time, or really just any time you want to have a fun girls night. What makes these parties so enjoyable is discovering new favorite items, plus the personal connection that comes with sharing something you love. It’s like a mini gift exchange, but more thoughtful and personalized! These events are also perfect for exploring trendy gift ideas. Whether you’re looking to host a fun girls’ night or simply want to swap some must-haves, a Favorite Things party is going to be a hit. Here is my ultimate guide to favorite things party gift ideas.

How to Host a Favorite Things Party

There are a few different ways that a favorite things party can be put on. There is no right or wrong, just pick what is right for your group. For the one I personally host, we set a dollar limit and each person brings one gift. We draw numbers and go in order, the person can either pick a gift from the pile, or steal a gift that has been chosen already. Each gift can have two steals after being unwrapped before it is locked.

We have also played where there is no stealing at all and you just get what you get.

Another option that I have seen done is everyone brings five $5 dollar gifts in bags and each person takes a turn grabbing a new bag one at a time until everyone has 5 new bags. This option is fun when you have a big variety of people.

Favorite Things Gift Ideas

There are really so many options but here are a few combos that would be so great to bring that I think almost anyone would love. The biggest thing to remember with favorite things is you are sharing your favorite thing. It may not be the getters favorite thing, but the point is sharing a favorite thing you love and them getting to maybe try something new. I gifted my favorite lipgloss one year and I knew it was risky because it is a makeup item, but a few weeks later my sweet friend messaged me with how much she loved it.

A favorite thing gift can also just be something that makes your life easier. It does not necessarily have to be your most favorite thing ever. It is about sharing what you love.

Gift Combos: some are ideas I have seen at past parties, and some are things that I have thought of to bring
-I have a favorite flour that I love and I have thought about bringing a small bag of kamut flour, my favorite chocolate chips, and a cookbook that the cookie recipe is in to get them started with baking the best chocolate chip cookies.
-a travel jewelry box with a dainty necklace or earrings
-a salad dressing jar with a salad bowl and serving utensils, this is a great salad bow option as well
-a pie dish, pie server and pie cookbook– this crate and barrel option is so cute, but this is another great option for only $12.
–Can Drinking Glasses, greens powder mix, protein powder
-A fun hair set- heatless curlers-this one, a dae styling cream and hair clip set
-if you are into sourdough, you could gift some starter with this Sourdough Starter Set

whatever combo, I like to add a face mask, eye patches, and a scrunchie or hair clip. I often buy these items in multiple so it is super easy to just add a few small extra items in that I know I love.

I love hosting and attending favorite things parties. They are truly such a fun way to bring people together and get to know everyone more. Hopefully if you host or attend your own favorite things party, these Favorite Things Party Gift Ideas help out and make it a little easier.
