I love halloween and am obsessed with all the decorating and crafts. I try to think of new crafts and activities each year, as well as ways to spruce up the decor I already have and re use as much as possible. Having a little one at home is super fun because I always try to create with her in mind and things she will love and use. Creating a new halloween want each year is one of my favorite, easy crafts to create. This Easy DIY Halloween Ghost Wand Craft Tutorial for Kids takes less than 10 minutes, and your children will love having something for this spooky season
Easy DIY Halloween Ghost Wand

Supplies for Ghost Wand
–Felt– I used wool felt, but craft felt would work too
-White Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl (Amazon, Michaels)
–Wooden Dowel (I bought this pack in 3/16″, you could also buy a really long one and cut to size)
-Black felt or black paper for they eyes
–yarn, ribbon, scrap fabric, tulle (anything cute to tie around the finished ghost)
-glue gun and scissors

Ghost Wand Tutorial
Step One: Prepare Material
Prep your felt. I used white wool felt and ironed on the glitter heat transfer vinyl. Felt is really thick, so make sure you fully iron it on, let it cool and then make sure you have it all completely ironed on. You do not need to make a lot, cut a 4×4 or 5×5 square out of both to save on material.
Remove the plastic sheet that is on the front of the glitter vinyl after everything has cooled.
Step Two: Cut the Ghost Out
Grab the free printable from the bottom of this post. The original sizing is set really large so you will need to size it down. I made my ghost at 3.5 inches by 3 inches. You can either upload this into a cutting machine design space- I used my cricut and cut it out with that.
If you do not have a cutting machine, you can print off the image (change the size down first), cut it out, and trace it onto the the felt side of the ghost, not the glitter side.
sorry, my mat is super messy
Step Three: Glue the Wand
Using your glue gun, spread a thin line of glue down the back of the ghost (the felt side), and lay your dowel on top. You can use a scrap piece of felt to cover the dowel if you want, but it is not necessary.
Step Four: Decorate Your Wand
Our Easy DIY Halloween Ghost Wand is almost done! Now here is the fun part. Using your scrap fabric, felt, tulle, etc.. layer the materials from widest to skinniest. With the widest layer closest to the dowel, tie it around so the skinnier layers show. Do his carefully, you want one knot that is is not too huge, so make sure to pull tight carefully.
Using a piece of yarn, tie a bow around the existing knot to finish off the ghost.

Step Five: Add Eyes
We are almost done! All you have to do is add eyes to your ghost. You can do this by cutting out ovals of either black paper or black felt, I did paper because it was much easier.
All Done!
We are all done with our Easy DIY Halloween Ghost Wand. I hope this tutorial was easy to follow and that you have fun making these with or for your kids this halloween season! Don’t forget to follow along on instagram for more fun ideas!
